Welcome!  We are a family owned and operated business dedicated to bringing you the best quality hand crafted kilts and knitwear.  We believe in tradition, old world skills, and long-lasting value.

Kiltmaker Matthew Newsome (right) specializes in authentic nineteenth century style kilts.  He is known world-wide for his traditional box pleated kilts, inspired by the original tailored kilt of the early nineteenth century.  These kilts are available in any tartan, including custom woven designs not ordinarily available from stock.

A lifetime member (and current governor) of the Scottish Tartans Authority, he is a published author on the subject of tartan and Highland Dress.  He serves as Director of the Scottish Tartans Museum in Franklin, NC, the only museum outside of Scotland dedicated to Highland Dress.

His wife, Joannie, is an expert knitter with experience making kilt hose, shawls, sweaters, bags, Victorian Lace, snoods and many other treasures.
